I must kill all flies
The sticky, obnoxious ones that land in your eyes
The ones that fly in your nose and ears
Never leaving and bringing frustrated tears
The ones you can't brush away or clout
Unless your prepared to poke your eyes out!
They sit on the bridge of your nose
And behind sunglasses they impose
Buzzing and fussing all around your head
Feasting on sunburnt skin that you have shed
Do I smell that bad? Is it my stench?
That feeds your hunger you just can't quench?
Add a sticky fly to humidity, heat and sweat
All you have is frustration, fury and frets
And its not just one single fly I am talking about
But a whole stupid swarm tends to hang about!
I don't know how I'll do it, but dammit I will!
Big or little, every fly I will Kill Kill Kill!
For my sanity and the safety of my eyes
I must, I MUST, kill all the dam flies!!
Flies beware, be downcast
ReplyDeleteYou mess with Peetz
And you've flown your last!
(PS Tell this to all the ants!)
Good one peetz, this blogs the best
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, they are a pest
A true bush poet to be sure
but can I just add something more
You failed to mention the sandflies
who can forget the little guys
They breed in sloppy mud and logs
and then descend on men and dogs
sucking blood, they swarm en masse
responding not to net nor gas
They land and make their presence felt
then leave you with an itchy welt
with every day the river flows,
they fly down earhole, throat and nose
So spare a thought for those 'out back'
who live under this bug attack!!
